Dubcnn: What’s up everyone I’m here with Cali Swag District.

Smoove: It’s your boy Smoove.

Yung: It’s ya boy Yung.

Dubcnn: We’re on the shoot for your video for The Kickback. Tell us how the shoot’s been going so far, we’re getting towards the end wrapping up.

Yung: Honestly it’s been crazy, it’s been hectic because we know a lot of people. When we throw kickbacks it be exclusive. It was kind of hard to get the dudes out of here and keep the females here. ‘Cause the dudes want to say ‘cause we got a lot of fine females here, they fire.

Smoove: Whole lot of females here. I mean shout out to everybody that came through. We appreciate everybody that came, but we had too many people. We havin’ fun, we not done yet, the night is young. It’s super young. We still gonna turn it up, we still got a few lovely ladies here. Not all of them left, the ones we needed stay, y’all know what it is. Kickback is goin’ down, tonight it’s official.

Dubcnn: Tell us about the song and the concept for the video, tell us what you’re going for on it.

Smoove: The song’s called Kickback, that’s what we doing, we having a kickback. Kickback’s like having a party, but it’s not as partyish. You come and chill, you do what you do, you get wasted. Whatever you want to do, you just have fun. And by the end of the night we all standin’ up, dancing, we just tryin’ to figure out who you finna goin’ home with. That’s the purpose of the kickback and that’ s what’s goin’ on tonight. We turn it all the way up, Cali Swag, we the king of the kickbacks, within California at least. Look, point the camera, look at all those ladies. That’s not even everybody, that’s only a couple people. I swear 150 people just left, it’s going on tonight. The video is basically goin’ off of what we sayin’ in the song. We tryin’ to have a kickback, tryin’ to kick the dudes out, tryin’ to turn it up. By the end of the night, you already know what it is.

Dubcnn: Tell us about Teach Me How to Dougie, it blew up really big. Tell us about that whole experience.

Smoove: Teach Me How to Dougie was a fun record that we recorded, for the people, everybody, young and old. Doesn’t matter your race, we just did it to have fun. That’s what we’re in this for, to have fun. We just livin’ life. When we made Teach Me How to Dougie, it was an idea of one of our friends. The dance, which everyone knows comes from Dallas Texas, we got it a little late, put our Cali Swag spin on it and made it happen. We pushed the song hard and in seven months we got signed and we been goin’ hard ever since. We been tryin’ to put out more records and more records to keep people messin’ with us. I mean if you support us you support us, if you don’t you don’t. But we respect everybody. We in the game to have fun and do what we do, have fun. That’s what we doin’, Cali Swaggin’.

Dubcnn: Tell us about the album, it’s also called The Kickback, when is it coming out, what tracks are you guys pushin’?

Smoove: The album is done, it’s super diverse. It’s three of us that record, bone dances, plus our producers, and those three minds plus our producers, we come up with so many different sounds. It’s so diverse and it’s fun, it’s fist pumpin’, you got the rock ’n’ roll sound, you got Teach Me How to Dougie, that’s a song about a dance, but you can dance to a lot of our tracks. A lot of them are about females, ‘cause it’s a group of dudes, you gotta go in for the ladies. It’s done, no release date, because we just keep makin’ it wait. That’s what it is, kickback will be in stores soon, I must say that. Get ready for The Kickback, we shootin’ the kick back. This song is basically how our album got created. It’s called Kickback because we create our album throwin’ kickbacks constantly. Everyday we’ll throw a kickback but we’ll still be working at the same time. Today we’re havin’ a kickback but we’re working. We’re shooting’ a video at the kickback. We mix work and fun sometimes but mostly its’ all work.

Dubcnn: Tell us about your sound, you don’t sound like every other artist on the West Coast, you brought something new, you guys are all about bringing the party, which has been missing for awhile. How do you guys define your sound?

Yung: We just go with the flow, what’s right at the moment. Honestly we don’t really have a sound. We don’t try and be like everyone else.

Smoove: We don’ t have a name for our style, we just call it the Cali Swag. We just throw our Cali Swag over a beat, and it comes out the way it does.

Yung: And if people like it they like it, if they don’t they don’t. we just gonna keep doing us.

Smoove: We doin’ what we love and that’s being who we are. W don’t change for anybody, we won’t change for anybody, we don’t look forward to changing for anybody. We gonna keep doing us. Like it or love it.
