Dubcnn Exclusive – Killah Priest
By: Jose Ho-Guanipa

Dubcnn: Dubcnn.com, I'm here with Killah Priest, from NYC to Los Angeles. What's good man?

Killah Priest: Great, just ready to get the show, break of day, ready to go out. Just finished my album can't complain about much. I'm at a good point right now.

Dubcnn: First off, tell us about this show you got this weekend.

Killah Priest: The show is Cage VS. Cons, put together by the Felony Fights brothers, they're good friends of mine and we've been doing music together and working together for a long time. We shot our first video and ever since, we've been doing magic. It's actually about cons fighting cops. So, ex-cons versus cops.

Dubcnn: Tell me what you think about the concept behind the thing and if you're vibin' with it.

Killah Priest: I think it's original. I don't think a lot of people have done this before, and there's a lot of animosity between convicts and cops. I think that this brings it out to the forefront. I think that M.M.A. is the top fighting thing now and everybody's watching it and we're at a point where Felony Fights is more grassroots. Anything can happen, not too many rules it's just what you got, what you have.

Dubcnn: So you're back on your music thing, and you're telling us about this album that's coming out.

Killah Priest: Yeah the 2nd world of Walter Reed, that'll be out probably in late summer, late summertime. Yeah it's great, sounds good, I'm in a good mood. Bunch of classics.

Dubcnn: Dope, tell us what you're bringing with it.

Killah Priest: I'm just bringing the raw sound back, what you know me for, but this time I'm taking it to another level, a different level of consciousness. You can judge when you get it.

Dubcnn: I know Gravediggaz re-union is in the works, right?

Killah Priest: Yeah, we just gotta deal with Fukwon, then I'm with it.

Dubcnn: Whose idea is it?

Killah Priest: RZA, since he's got the power. Now, I've got the power, that's the second world of Walter Reed.

Dubcnn: You've been in some other groups, what's your take on being part of group projects and how they work; do you like them a lot or is it just something that kind of happens?

Killah Priest: It's just different ways to create. You know with yourself, it's all you but when you get somebody else it's kind of easier. You're not in a rush with the group stuff. There's somebody else, you just get to spit your 16 and you're done, but you have to wait on somebody else that can get frustrating.

Dubcnn: I know you're part of Horsemen, H-R-S-M-N, I know a lot of West Coast cats are in it, Kurupt, Ras Kass and Canibus.

Killah Beast: Yeah, we got a lot of songs created, it's just a matter of when we gonna put it out. I definitely don't want it to clash with my album, but the Horsemen stuff is gonna be incredible, great stuff for lyricism.

Dubcnn: Obviously you got the affiliation with Wu Tang, all those guys. You been talking to them lately, are you doing stuff?

Killah Priest: GZA just called me, but I was busy at the moment. Everything's going good. Breaking day, just doing our thing. Sometimes it drains you.

Dubcnn: Tell us about the lyrical content of the upcoming album?

Killah Priest: Heavy. That's all I'm gonna say.

Dubcnn: What about touring, are you gonna be hitting up a lot of places once that thing drops. What do you got in mind?

Killah Priest: Overseas again. San Antonio, some of my favorites, love that spot.

Dubcnn: What's your favorite spot overseas?

Killah Priest: Paris and Amsterdam.

Dubcnn: What do you like about Paris?

Killah Priest: Just like the girls.

Dubcnn: Cage VS. Cons, this Saturday, you're gonna be there, it's gonna be a dope event.

Killah: We're gonna have some surprise guests too, so make sure you come through with support.

Dubcnn: Any closing words before we take off?

Killah Priest: Be faithful, love just, come just. God is good.
