Dubcnn: We're right here with Atlanta rapper Young Bree. To start things off, introduce yourself to everybody out there.

My name is Young Bree, I'm an Atlanta based rapper. I'm just trying to make it in the rap world, you feel me?

Dubcnn: In 2008, there is literally a new artist trying to get into the game every second. What would you say makes you stand out in the crowd of new artists?

I think what makes me stand out is the lyrical genius that I use sometimes in my raps. I respect rap as an art, I really take my time with every line, with every verse, every hook. I think some rappers they're just not respecting it and taking their time as an art, which is what rap is.

Dubcnn: Your current single "Check Ya Swag" is picking up right now, how did you connect with Shawty Redd and Killer Mike to do the song?

I recorded it at Hot Beats on Spring Street and Shawty Redd was there also. The engineer let Shawty Redd hear some of my music when he was recording one time, and Shawty Redd was really digging it. That's how it all came about. We were introduced, we connected, the chemistry was there, you know how it goes.

Dubcnn: What about Killer Mike?

Killer Mike, he's a friend of Shawty Redd and he was all for the cause. That's how that happened too.

Dubcnn: Can we expect a video to the song?

Yes we can expect a video to the song, it depends on whether the song picks up how I want it to pick up, if it does we'll shoot a video for it.

Dubcnn: You're upcoming album is going to be titled "Diary Of An Extrapper". What can we expect from that?

Right now I'm still deciding on the name. I'm still debating on whether it's going to be "Diary Of An Extrapper" or a couple other ideas that I have. But you can expect a whole CD full of songs that is refreshing, it's like a breath of fresh air, for those who are real Hip-Hop fans.

Dubcnn: Who were your main influences when you were coming up?

I would say Tupac Shakur, Andre from Outkast, Big Pun, I grew up jamming Big Pun every day. T.I., he's a very respectful rapper, I've been listening to him since early high school, when he first came out with the "I'm Serious" LP.

Dubcnn: What made you want to get into the music industry?

You know, every kid growing up listening to rap would like to be a rapper if they really love rap like that. I always had it in the back of my mind, that I wanna be a rapper, but until the last couple of years I didn't really take rap seriously, I started getting serious about three years ago.

Dubcnn: Tell us about your past, I believe you served a two year stint in prison. How did that influence the way you live your life?

Oh man, prison made a man out of me. I made a bunch of bad decisions growing up and I paid for it. But I think prison was a rehabilitation and it got my mind right. It also gave me a lot of time to work on my rapping, it gave me a lot of time to practice.

Dubcnn: So when can we expect your album to drop?

Late summer.

Dubcnn: What label is it going through?

Drift City Records.

Dubcnn: Do you have specific producers that you're going to be working with on the album?

Right now I'm working with Young Sears, Don P (From Trillville) and Lou from Imperial Records.

Dubcnn: What about guest appearances?

Right now we only have Shawty Redd and Killer Mike, the rest is me solo by myself. I'm planning on having a few more guest appearances though.

Dubcnn: Which artists would you like to collaborate with in future?

It's a lot of artists I'd love to collaborate with in the future, especially producers also. But as far as artists, I think about making a song with Andre 3000 all the time. I love Fabolous too. I wanna collaborate with a couple eof up north guys, cause I really respect the way they treated Hip-Hop. Method man, a lot of guys like that.

Dubcnn: Before we go, is there anything else you'd like to let everybody know?

Everybody listen up for Young Bree, he's bringing some real good stuff to the table, his music is food for the soul. "Check Ya Swag" the new single Young Bree featuring Shawty Redd and Killer Mike, ya'll go get it!
