 J. King Is "Next To Bat" - Single On iTunes & New Track - By : Rud - June 30, 2010
 It's been just over six months since we last heard from J. King who hails from Orange County when we announced that he was gearing up to release his album "The Coronation". Since that update which included the singles All Ive Ever Known featuring Crooked I and Money Motivated alongside Sav Sinatra, J. King has been busy working as the release was pushed back to make some changes.
Today we have news that album is finally complete and the single All Ive Ever Known featuring Crooked I is now available on iTunes.
With the delay the album name itself has changed, the project is now entitled "Next To Bat" and drops in July with appearances by Glasses Malone, Crooked I, Sly Boogy and Kali amongst others.
The latter artist, Kali, features on the brand new J. Steez produced track "Get To My Head" which can be streamed and downloaded below.

The East Coast entrepreneur, R.H. Bless, is back with his latest project, “Bring That Beat Back Vol. 2: East Coast Rhyming, West Coast Riding”. Paying homage to the West Coast's golden 90's era, R.H. Bless spits over some of the most well-known west coast instrumentals like "Regulators", "I Got 5 On It" and more. He adds his signature East Coast sound to the mix, making this one of his most versatile and interesting projects yet. The download link to the mixtape is below:

 3/5 Human, born Marco Polo Santiago, is an MC and producer from Los Angeles. His name derives from America’s 3/5 Compromise of 1787 in which the Northern and Southern states formed an agreement to count each slave as 3/5 of a person, thereby granting the South additional seats in Congress, but preserving African Americans’ status as slaves. Today, after centuries of systematic oppression and exploitation, the majority of the world’s population continues to struggle for equality, opportunity, and life. This struggle is the inspiration for 3/5’s music and this music has led him to be featured on Dubcnn today.
3/5 Human was drawn to music at an early age and has spent the majority of his life rapping and playing various instruments. In 2000, he began making beats and dedicated the next few years to developing his craft as a producer. After being in various bands, 3/5 decided to pursue a career as a solo artist and, in 2006, self released a 12-inch single entitled, Live from 1600. Since then, he has recorded with Gangsta Rap legend MC Eiht of Compton’s Most Wanted and 2Mex of the Visionaries/Look Daggers.
He has also performed throughout California, Colorado, Oregon, New York, New Jersey, Texas, Arizona and Mexico, opening for B-Real of Cypress Hill, Immortal Technique, Dead Prez, Psycho Realm, Ill Bill of La Coka Nostra, 2Mex, LMNO, Busdriver, Aceyalone of Freestyle Fellowship, Mystic and many more.
While inspired by many styles of music, 3/5 Human draws most of his influence from Metal and socially conscious Hip Hop of the 1980’s and early 90’s. Building upon this influence, 3/5 has created a unique sound that is rooted in Hardcore Hip Hop and infused with a Rock and Electronic edge. The result is a blend of politically charged lyrics, aggressive vocal delivery, and high-energy production.
Today on Dubcnn we have the download of his debut EP, "Prelude to War" which has been getting critical acclaim and on which 3/5 delivers a six-track barrage of honest, unapologetic commentary on the current social and political conditions facing us today. The Lakers defeated their rival the Boston Celtics in seven games to win their sixteenth title and Kobe Bryant was named the NBA Finals MVP for the second consecutive year.

 Darren Vegas is a multi-platinum producer who has worked with several of hip-hop’s finest including Snoop Dogg, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Crooked I, Too Short, Boo Yaa Tribe, and 40 Glocc aka Big Bad 40 (”Welcome To Cali”) to name only a few. Raised in Orange County, CA, Darren is no stranger to the west coast music scene, as his first label Killa Cali Records released the group Killafornia Organization, with the help of Tha Chill (of CMW) and sold 350,000 of that record. From there, Darren’s production would soon get noticed by Snoop Dogg, which led to him producing “Dippin’ In My Low Low” featuring theLBC Crew for the ”Tha Doggfather” album.
Soon after, Darren's career was in full motion. It was then when an M.C. by the name of Crooked I came into the picture. After their first record at Virgin failed to come out over a record company scandal the two joined forces and began recording Crook’s new record “Untouchable Cali”. It was during this time that Crooked I, who had then signed to a deal with Dogg Pound records, hashed a deal with Death Row and Suge Knight. After Big C Style, Daz and Suge fell out Crooked then signed a deal directly with Death Row.
While at Death Row, Darren produced on 2Pac’s “Until The End of Time” and “Nu Mixx Klassics”, the “Dysfunktional Family” soundtrack, several tracks for TLC’s Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes’ N.I.N.A. project, Crooked I, Keiysha Cole, Ray J, Kurupt and others.

 2010 has been unusually quiet for Bishop Lamont but, as we told you in March, that's because he's been busy working. Since his departure from Aftermath in early January the rumour mill has been rife about what is next for the artist who has given us track after track and mixtape upon mixtape of quality material.
As the press release told you in March (See previous post: Bishop Lamont Talks New Projects), Bishop Lamont has been working on projects with John Mayer and Samuel L. Jackson.
Following on from that update the track Gone featuring John Mayer and produced by Drama from Rob Dyrdek's hit MTV show "Fantasy Factory" - was released. "I did it for the music, I just felt it, related to it and identified with what John was singing about" Bishop said about the track.
Over the past few months Bishop and his camp have remained tight-lipped about the future however just yesterday our friends over at AftermathMusic got their hands on an exclusive song by Bishop Lamont which features not only Xzibit but also Jelly Roll over a Scoop Deville production. Today the full version of the track entitled "Blow Yo Mind" - including a verse from Crooked I - hit the internet and can be heard and downloaded below and is sure to have fans clamouring for a new project from Bishop in the near future.

Paypa is the emcee in question and since his Fall 2009 mixtape release, "24 Hours from Greatness" he has been working away preparing his debut album "Feel Good Music" due out this summer.
In our last update we have you a taste of what to expect from Paypa with the Embryo produced joint I Am Bitches featuring Game and Jim Jones. Today we have news on his upcoming pre-album release mixtape; "Tunnel Vision."

He has now taken his support one step further and released a tribute video to the show's main character, Sookie Stackhouse. In his new video, "Oh Sookie", the Boss Dogg gives it up to his crush. Upon first listen, Concrete Steppin draws you in to its authentic soundscape. Hip-Hop fans of late have been conversing more about "real hip hop" and what happened to the "real emcee". Knoc-turn'al & Slip Capone spent many years together at L.A. Confidential and rocked Dr. Dre beats among others, and now they are reunited almost 6 years later. Knawledg is a Knoc-turn'al protege apart of Knoc's MathMadix group and is set to appear on Knoc's upcoming album, "Knoc's Ville."

 40 Glocc, who has now official changed his rap moniker to Big Bad 40 (pronounced Big Bad Four O), welcomes you to California with a brand-new record, “Welcome To California”, off his upcoming solo project "N.W.A." (New World Agenda), which will be dropping later this summer.
With “Welcome To California” Big Bad 40 recruits some of west coast’s finest to serve one of the hottest west coast records out. The original version of the song only features 40 and Seven, but there will be several remixes coming out featuring the who's who from the West Coast.
This is the first remix, for which 40 reached out to his peers who already set their trends for the West and brought home platinum plaques: Snoop Dogg, E-40, Too Short and Xzibit. The homie Seven is on the hook and production was provided by multi-platinum producer Darren Vegas:

 Some of Hip-Hop's finest lyricists came together to record a new anthem for the world famous Wake Up Show. Those who are familiar with these legendary joints know they're not your average rap songs! We brought you the audio to the song a few weeks back (click here if you missed it).
As always, Sway & King Tech gathered some of the finest MC's, three of which already appeared on the OG Wake Up Show Anthem in 1999. The 2010 anthem features Locksmith, Kam Moye aka Supastition, Crooked I, Tech N9ne, Tajai from Souls Of Mischief, The RZA, Ras Kass, B-Real.
